About

The voice of forensic medicine in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Association was founded on 1 June 2012 in Sarajevo, at a constituent assembly held during the 21st international congress of forensic physicians „Alpe-Adria-Panonia", under the Law on Associations and Foundations of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It was entered in the Register of Associations kept by the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina on 7 February 2013, under registration number 1385, Book I. It operates throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina as an independent, non-profit professional association, with its seat in Sarajevo, Čekaluša 90, at the Institute of Forensic Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine.

Its work rests on the conviction that the quality of justice depends on the quality of expert examination — hence the insistence on common standards, verifiable methodology, and a clear separation of findings from opinion in every professional document.

The emblem — Themis holding the scales of justice in one hand and the rod of Asclepius in the other — states the substance of the profession: medicine and law together, in search of the truth.
